The Data Protection Act

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, we are legally obliged to keep secure any information you give us. We have strict security procedures in place and we will not pass your data on to anyone else.

Data Collection

We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal data: order and payment details for orders placed; details for additions to our mailing list; and information about your computer and about your visits to and use of this website (including your IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and number of page views).

Mailing list

If you register for our emailing list, the information we collect is: your name, your email address, password and your subject interests. This information is held securely by Hoolet Publishing until you unsubscribe from our mailing list. This information is only held to allow us to send you information about Hoolet Publishing which may be of interest to you. We will not pass your details on to anyone else.

Credit/debit card transaction and security

For your security, authorisation on all orders will be checked with the credit card company before books are despatched. Additionally, our secure server software is industry standard and encrypts all your payment details, including credit/debit card number, name on card and expiry date

Cookies

A cookie consists of information sent by a web server to a web browser, and stored by the browser. The information is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser.

We may use both “session” cookies on the website. We will use the session cookies to: keep track of you whilst you navigate the website. Session cookies will be deleted from your computer when you close your browser.

We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of this website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on users’ computers. The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of the website. Google will store this information. However, we take no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, the website being temporarily unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

  • UK: £2.95 for the first book, 50p for each book thereafter
  • UK: 3-5 working days from receipt of order
  • Rest of World: £5.95 for the first book, £1.00 for each book thereafter
  • Rest of World: please allow at least 14 days from receipt of order

CANCELLATIONS & RETURNS

How can I cancel all or part of my order?

Please contact us at hello@hoolet.scot to cancel your order in part or in whole.

Provided your merchandise has not been despatched, we will halt processing of your order and refund your credit or debit card account. Should your merchandise have already been dispatched, we will provide you with the necessary information for returning the item(s) to us for refund.

Can I return an item and, if so, will I have to pay for postage?

We guarantee the quality of our products. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return the item, in its original condition, within 30 days of receipt of your package for a full refund of the purchase price. If the return is due to an error on our part, we will gladly compensate you for the returns postage within a week of processing the return.

How do I return an item?

How long will my return take to be processed?

We endeavour to process returns within one week of receipt or within 30 days of cancellation. Be sure to include your order number in any correspondence so that we can process your refund as quickly as possible for you.

How will I receive my refund?

The account of the credit or debit card used for the original purchase will be credited back the amount of that purchase, less postage and packing if returned past 30 days from receipt of your package (unless we’ve made an error).

What if I have not received my refund?

If you do not receive credit for your return within four weeks (six weeks for items travelling overseas), please notify us at hello@hoolet.scot

Hoolet Publishing is not responsible for lost returns.

PERMISSIONS

If you would like to reproduce an extract from a Hoolet Publishing title please read the following guidelines before submitting a request.

To ensure your request is processed as quickly as possible, please check that the extract and/or illustrations that you wish to use are from a Hoolet Publishing title. This can be done by checking credits, acknowledgements, and notes on the copyright page or at the back of the book. If material is attributed to another source, person or institution, OR if the edition was ‘reprinted by arrangement with…’ contact the cited party. If a more recent edition has since been published by another company, please contact them.

Please note that our turnaround time is 6-8 weeks on average.

We do not grant permissions requests in perpetuity.

Hoolet Publishing reserves the right to refuse requests in its sole discretion.

SUBMISSIONS

Hoolet Publishing will be accepting submissions from August 2017. Hoolet will offer all of our contributors their own business consultant, digital illustrator, website designer and audio visual developer to ensure their creativity reaches its full potential.
